"The audience ("il pubblico") is the future of theatre. People will go to the theatre as a place to play. There are people who play petanque, other people who play cards and there will be people who will go to the theater to play for a while and have fun, while they change their bodies and their minds."

 

Il Pubblico is a creation and educational project with the aim of widening the access to quality education through performing arts as methods for of embodied learning and means of eco-social transformation.

 

OUR SHOW

 

We create shows that innovate in participatory performance formats, by exploring the common ground between performance art and theatre, and by working at the interface of dance, dramaturgy, acting, and choreography.

 

We generate inter-media movement-based shows in which the audience takes an active role by moving and experiencing in first person what performing means in connection with daily life.

Our creation projects are based on collaborative practices, involving the collectives concerned with the themes treated.

 

Inside the performance event, the implied community is present as actors, as co-authors or as recorded voices or texts inviting the audience to take part of the piece.

We also design educational projects that convey cultural mediation and social intervention through the performing arts, without leading to a final show.

 

We expand performance outside the theaters, activating bodily creativity in schools, universities, neighborhoods, homes, streets, museums, and other places of daily life.

 

We act at the interface between intimate, private and public spaces, trying to infect reality with performance superpowers.
